  • Logbook Setup From The Start?

    Hi To All,

I am trying to setup the Logbook function of HRD but fine the User Manual next to useless.

Is there a resource available to illustrates how to setup the Logbook from a new users point of view?

    Pete

Yes, the user manual leaves a lot to be desired. One of the areas that needs a lot of work is that of how to configure and print qsl labels/cards.

Is there any particular issue that you need any assistance with?

        G'Day Dave,

        Thanks for responding.

OK, lets start with the following questions.

When I first start LogBook (standalone), it asks me downloading the Membership List from both eQSL & LOTW, which I am not a member of either.

Do I need to become a member of these?

When I start LogBook (standalone), I get a ‘Connect’ dialog box saying:

        Connection failed.
Check that the IP Server is started.

1: In HRD select IP Server from the Tools menu.
2: Make sure access is not blocked by a firewall.

Do I need to have HRD running when using the LogBook?

There will be times where I just want to use Digital Master and LogBook by themselves.

Unless HRD Rig Control is running you will not be able to use DM780, for SWLing you could. You will also need to manually enter Frequency and Mode in the Logbook.
Why would you not want to run Rig Control?

This is normal when starting Logbook in standalone (Rig Control not running), just click and ignore.

I use DM quiet often without having HRD running.
Reason why I don't have HRD running all the time is to keep resources available when needed.

Thanks Dave: All good. I can now see 'My Logbook' in there now, so I guess that's all I need to do now.
