  • Suddenly Logbook Stopped Working

Without notice Logbook stopped working, my logged data on screen disappeared and restarting HRD doesn't bring it back. Not only that, but all Logbook buttons are inactive. Clicking on them does nothing. HELP!

Jim. Try reinstalling HRD if not already. Do you have auto backups of your logs turned on? You should.

      Jim,
Have you tried clicking on "File Open" you should see "Select Logbook" with a list of available logbooks? Clicking on "Manager" should also display a list of available logbooks.

David, Yes I tried what you suggested. Those buttons are all inactive and cannot be clicked on. It's like my entire log of QSOs was deleted.

          Hello Jim,

Sorry to hear you have not progressed.

Assuming you are using WIN 10 take a look in C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Roaming\HRDLLC\HRD Logbook do you see HRD My Logbook ?
          Regards,

            David,

Yes, I do see HRD My Logbook. I opened it and it is short a few QSOs but perhaps only two or three.

Question: Should I proceed with installing the new update? If I do, will my Logbook and the backup logs remain as they are?

            I truly appreciate your help.

              Jim,

I presume the missing log entries are your last 2 or 3 Contacts? I wonder if you noticed anything happening to your HRD at that time or did you make any alterations to the configuration? You could try searching your Hard Drives for a later copy of HRD My Logbook.

Do you mean install HRD update or use the HRD My Logbook you've located?

I would proceed with the HRD My Logbook, just make sure you are backing up when exiting HRD.
              Regards,

                Jim,

Another thought, do you upload your log to one of the On-Line Logbooks, if so maybe your missing QSO's are saved?
                Regards,

                  David,

I installed the new HRD update and was able to go into Logbook where it saw My Logbook and I was able to select it in Manager. All is working again as it should.

Thanks for your assistance. It is truly appreciated.
